Ardsley — Rivertowns residents may not be aware of how much information is available about what’s happening, or has happened, in their villages, so the Rivertowns Current is bringing you a primer on how to stay informed and engaged locally.
Here’s a summary of how to stay well-informed about Ardsley.

Village Communications:

Board Meetings:
Meetings occur in the Court Room (2nd floor) at Village Hall, 507 Ashford Ave.
You can view meetings via Zoom or join by phone. For the Zoom Link, call Village Clerk Ann Marie Rocco, at 914-693-1550. To participate by phone, dial in by your location: 1-929-205-6099 (New York). Once the public comment segment opens for a particular agenda item, press *9 to raise your (virtual) hand and enter the speaking queue. Anyone may also submit written comments in advance to arocco@ardsleyvillage.com.
Board of Trustees:
This board is Ardsley's policy-making body.
Meetings are at 8 p.m. on the 1st and 3rd Mondays of each month.
Board meetings are open to the public (except for Executive Sessions), and can be viewed live on Channel 75 (Optimum customers) or Channel 32/35 (Verizon customers). Meetings are re-broadcast on TV at 12 and 5 a.m., and at 12, 4:30, and 8 p.m.

Planning Board:
The board serves to ensure compatible land use by reviewing proposed development and site plans of property owners, including subdividing a property, or building or altering the size of an existing structure. It grants approvals to build, excavate, and connect to sewer lines, and reviews applications affecting steep slopes and wetlands.
Meetings are at 8 p.m. on the 2nd Monday of each month.

Board of Architectural Review:
The BAR reviews the designs and building materials for exteriors of buildings, signs, and other structures being erected, to assist in preserving community character and enhancing the village’s physical appearance.
Meetings are at 8 p.m. on the 1st & 3rd Tuesday of each month.

The BAR does not maintain minutes.
Zoning Board of Appeals:
The ZBA interprets and renders decisions on local zoning ordinances. It has authority to authorize or deny variances from ordinances.
Meetings are at 8 p.m. on the 4th Wednesday of each month.
