Westchester County Lifts Hudson River Advisory
The County says the river is now safe for swimmers and residential boaters

Rivertowns — The Westchester County Department of Health has announced that Hudson River swimmers and recreational boaters from Yonkers to Peekskill can resume their activities safely. Croton Point Park Beach and Philipse Manor Beach are now open again.
An advisory was originally announced on June 7th after a force main break at the Crotonville sewer pump station in Ossining caused partially treated sewage to be released into the Hudson River, potentially affecting the Hudson from Yonkers up to Peekskill.
The sewer main repairs have been completed, so the DOH lifted the advisory as “ample tidal movement would allow the partially treated sewage that had been released into the river to be adequately diluted.”
