Thank you to everyone who has subscribed to the Rivertowns Current. We now have more than 500 subscribers, including 100+ voluntary paid subscribers who help keep this publication going.
Since launching the Rivertowns Current in February 2024, we have covered things like local businesses, new books by local authors, updates to the local leaf-blower law, school budget issues, local dining, students working on sustainability initiatives, deer, memorials to the recently departed, local sports, the performing arts, updates to tax exemptions, Rivertowns residents doing interesting things, and more (including launching a new pets column and a new advice column). So many of you have submitted event listings, and we now have a robust weekly calendar of events. We have partnered with the Hudson Independent to cross-post stories. We’ve had four writers who have written for the Rivertowns Current so far, and we have had our first local business sponsor the weekly events listings.
We plan to continue to expand our coverage and hope for your continued support.
If you’d like to hear a podcast episode about the creation of the Rivertowns Current, listen to this episode of the Rivertowns Story Corps. Here is a story about local news that was written for the Hastings High School paper, The Buzzer.
Thank you again!
