Rivertowns (Hastings-on-Hudson, Dobbs Ferry, Ardsley, and Irvington) — The results of local school elections are in after voters headed to the polls at their local school districts to vote on school budgets and Board of Education candidates. In the Rivertowns, school budgets were passed, even in areas with low voter turnout.
Hastings-on-Hudson:
The school budget passed with 1,206 people voting yes and 313 people voting no on the budget. School board incumbent (and BOE president) Alexander Dal Piaz was re-elected with 1,003 votes. Newcomer David Barone was elected with 844 votes, and newcomer Catherine DiMartino was elected with 1,234 votes.
Dobbs Ferry:
The school budget passed by a vote of 382 to 122. Dobbs Ferry BOE incumbents Penny Sullivan-Nunes (411 votes) and Vice President Brooke Bass (406 votes) ran unopposed and were re-elected to serve on the Dobbs BOE.
Ardsley:
The school budget was passed with a vote of 890-358, and a capital bond project was also passed (821-429). BOE incumbent Vikas Agrawal was re-elected to the school board with 751 votes. Michelle Spiniello received 465 votes.
Irvington:
The school budget passed with a vote of 389-103. BOE incumbents Susan Brunenavs (427) and Beth Propper (434) were both re-elected to the school board.
