Rivertowns Pets: Margo
Meet Margo, a Labradoodle who lives in Hastings-on-Hudson
by Janine Annett
Introducing Rivertowns Pets, a series where we’ll be profiling local pets. First up: Margo.
Margo is a very charming 3-year-old Labradoodle who lives with her human family of mom, dad, and two kids in Hastings-on-Hudson.
According to Margo’s human, Amber, Margo is “the most social dog in the neighborhood” and wants to be friends with everybody (human and canine). Like many dogs in Hastings, she’s particularly fond of Joe — the local mail carrier who all Hastings dogs know has not just mail, but also dog treats in his mailbag.
Margo never gives up on trying to be friends with another dog. Even if another dog is unfriendly at first, Margo will give them “unlimited second chances.”
Margo is a very caring dog - if someone is sick, she will check on them and snuggle with them.
There’s one thing to watch out for when hanging out with Margo: She’s a notorious toy thief. “Once, she was playing at her friend Penny’s house and stole a dog toy, ran out of their yard, and then ran back to her own house with the toy.” She’s also a food stealer. Her favorite foods are “everything” but especially chicken, meat, bagels, pizza, pancakes, and waffles.
Despite Margo’s thieving ways, Amber describes her as “a very good friend.” If you see Margo out and about, give her some pets. Just be sure to hide your dog toys.
