Good Witch Snack Bar to Debut This Summer at Chemka Pool
The new concessions stand will feature iced drinks, pastries, and assorted snacks

Hastings-on-Hudson — This summer, there will be many familiar sights at the Chemka pool in Hastings: Children learning to swim, lifeguards keeping watch over the swimming pools, and people swimming laps in the lap lane.
But one thing will be a little bit different this summer at the pool: The concessions stand.
For many years, the concessions stand at the pool has been run by the beloved Hastings pizzeria Slices. Children (and adults) could choose from a variety of items like pizza, hamburgers, hot dogs, chips, ice cream, candy, other assorted snacks, and soft drinks.
This summer, the Good Witch Snack Bar will make its debut at Chemka, replacing the previous concessions stand. The snack bar will be run by management and staff from Hastings’ Good Witch Coffee Bar.
“We’ll have a combination of popular drinks from our core menu at the Good Witch like cold brew and hibiscus iced tea,” said Joanna Prisco, owner of the Good Witch. “We’re also going to launch a seasonal summer drink called the Matcha Colada — it will include iced matcha tea, coconut milk, and pineapple juice.”
In addition to drinks, the Good Witch snack bar will sell organic fruit popsicles, frozen chocolate-covered bananas, muffins, baked goods, sandwiches and snacks like popcorn (Bjorn Qorn), potato chips, and pretzels. All of the items for sale will be vegetarian, said Prisco.
Despite the noticeable absence of pre-packaged candy on the menu, Prisco said that the snack bar will appeal to hungry swimmers of all ages. “I have two young boys who like to snack,” said Prisco.
All items will be under $10, with many selections under $5. The snack bar will accept cash as well as credit cards and Apple Pay.
“We’re going to incorporate things that people associate with summer and cookouts, but also use quality organic ingredients,” said Prisco. “We want to meet everyone’s needs.”
Prisco said she hopes people will enjoy the change of pace when it comes to snacking at the pool. “I want to throw a fun party at the pool every day,” she said. Prisco said she also hopes to have special themed menus for events like the Chemka Boat Regatta and other summertime events at the pool.
